In no Election have we ever seen such controversy, mudslinging and heart-ache. Through social media especially we've endured much jostling. The inner trolls of every kind came out to taunt. And in the end, as a country we feel torn apart.
So, I call on you to listen to my simple message.
WORDS HAVE A GREAT TENDENCY TO LEAD PEOPLE TO DO THAT WHICH IS JUST, EVEN GREATER THAN FISTS, and FIRES.
Women are especially gifted in this calling. We hold powerful persuasion at our fingertips and lips. I hope you feel encouraged to use your words for goodness. Read these 7 stories of Amazing Women in Politics who have done just that. Republicans and Democrats, Their voices have been their power, make it yours.
presenting FUTURE MRS. PRESIDENT
#1. RASHIDA TLAIB: Became the first Muslim-American woman to serve in the Michigan Legislature, and only the second Muslim woman in history to be elected to any state legislature in America. She is a democratic member of the Michigan House of Representatives serving in the 6th district.
#2. KELLYANNE CONWAY: Named Donald Trump's campaign manager making her the first woman to ever run a Republican presidential campaign. She's traveled with Trump throughout his campaign in its last months and advised him, as well as appeared frequently on TV to speak on his behalf.
#3. SHIRLEY CHRISHOLM: Was an American politician, educator, and author. In 1968, she became the first African American woman elected to the United States Congress, and she represented New York's 12th Congressional District for seven terms from 1969 to 1983. In 1972, she became the first black candidate for a major party's nomination for President of the United States, and the first woman to run for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.
#4. OLYMPIA SNOWE: An American Politician who was a United States Senator from Maine from 1995 to 2013. Snowe, a member of the Republican Party, became widely known for her ability to influence the outcome of close votes, including whether to end filibusters.
#5. SUSAN COLLINS: is an American politician who currently serves as the senior United States Senator from Maine. A member of the Republican Party, Collins has served in the Senate since 1997, and has served as the Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging since 2015 and previously chaired the Senate Committee on Homeland Security from 2003 to 2007. She is considered one of the most moderate Republicans in office. She also is known for her long consecutive voting streak, which reached 6,000 votes in September 2015
#6. TULSI GABBARD: An American politician and member of the Democratic Party who has been the United States Representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district since 2013. She was also a vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee until February 28, 2016, when she resigned in order to endorse Senator Bernie Sanders for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination. Elected in 2012, she is the first American Samoan and the first Hindu member of the United States Congress, and, along with Tammy Duckworth, one of its first female combat veterans.
#7. HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON: Was the Democratic Party's nominee for President of the United States in the 2016 election. She is a former U.S. Senator, First Lady of the United States and First Lady of Arkansas.
