Losing 100 pounds is usually something you just see in a women’s magazine at the checkout counter around the new year. For Lisa it was a life changing triumph. Goddess portraits are the end result of over four years of seriously hard work and commitment to herself .
Feeling as beautiful as she looked, we came together to create art to share with the people she loves. What an emotionally overwhelming honor to be entrusted with her first photos since starting her transformation journey.
Lisa once wore the title of dancer. Growing up military and encouraged by her mother, dancing was a means of connecting with others since she was just three. A tool to combat her shyness, dancing was a huge part of her life for over 15 years. Her Goddess experience brought Lisa back full circle and into a tutu. Oh yeah I can rock this! And, you better believe she did!
My goal for Lisa in this experience was to put her best smile forward. Make up, just a tool. Hair, just a tool. Fabulous styling, just a tool. Everything here is waiting for you to outwardly portray the best version of yourself. The reveal is that pivotal energy charged moment. Sitting in that chair of life waiting to show your best self to the world. The works been done and you’re just waiting for THE MOMENT. Face and shoulders, lean in closer to the mirror, hands go to the mouth. Your thoughts go from do I look good? to Damn, I look great!. Not a question but a statement. [insert loud squeals] Standing taller than you usually may, where the wind hits the hair ( even if it’s simply a hair dryer on high held by my assistant).
There is a goddess inside you, even if you need a little artificial wind to get you feeling like Beyonce at the halftime show. There will always be this sliver in time to celebrate unapologetically all that you are, have achieved, or are on your way to becoming. Confidence never looked so good!
If we all search hard enough we can always find a reason to talk ourselves out of something. Stop searching for the exit. Overcoming shyness and being vulnerable can feel so very scary in the beginning. Once you place your trust in me I’ll work my photography arsenal. Entrust the details of posing, angles, fashion, and editing to me. As a professional female photographer I’m well in tune to the tricks of the trade to help capture your best self.
